A Bit About Ms. Aylesworth
Tracey Aylesworth teaches the art course in Global Perspectives. Ms. Aylesworth got her Master’s at Queen’s University in English, Art History, and Fine Art. She has been teaching for 22 years and has been a part of the Global family for 4 years. An out of the box thinker, she always tried to get us to push our limits, think conceptually, and discover ourselves through art. She encouraged us to try new techniques and untraditional materials in our art journals, and provided us with feedback so we could discover our most artistic selves. Ms. Aylesworth used the Beautiful Oops story to teach us that we can create something unexpected from our mistakes. Throughout the year, we developed many abilities thanks to Ms. Aylesworth, such as painting, watercolour, shading, sculpting, art critiquing, and using found objects. These skills were essential to our C2Ns, self-actualization boxes, and Shamans. These skills were even useful in our other classes, as we strived to break from traditional methods and make every assignment unique. Students describe Ms. Aylesworth as passionate, eccentric, wise, outgoing, beautiful, and open-minded. One student, Christy Lorenz, said, “If art were human, it would be Ms. Aylesworth.” She is loved by us all and has made a lasting impact on all our lives.
